Our vessel “Reel Candy” is based at one of the most picturesque locations in Southern Florida, right opposite the historic Jupiter Lighthouse in the Jupiter Inlet. Reel Candy can be found in Jupiter Inlet Marina located behind the New U-Tiki Beach Restaurant, 1096 A1a Jupiter, which, coincidentally, is the ideal place to celebrate after a successful day out sport fishing with Captain Marvin Steiding. As a US and Bahamian licensed charter service, we offer Sailfish charters from the Sailfish Capital of the world, Stuart, Jupiter and Palm Beach Florida.
Reel Candy Sport Fishing Charters have been fishing in the Jupiter, Stuart and Palm Beach Florida areas for many year and we look forward to conducting your next charter, excursion or trip!
This deep water inlet serves the Port of Palm Beach as the gateway to the Caribbean and the closest point of this superhighway for fish to the continental United States. Just minutes after departing the dock, we are fishing pristine tropical waters influenced by our close proximity to the Gulf Stream.
The Inlet cushions the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, making it an ideal location from which to set out on a Reel Candy Sportfishing trip. The Northern Palm Beaches is renowned for its fishing opportunities. We can start fishing within amile of the inlet. The 47’ Reel Candy provides a stable platform for the many styles of fishing from Jupiter and is now located at Castaway’s Marina & Square Grouper Tiki Bar.
Stuart, Florida is known as “The Sailfish Capital of the World.”
During the winter months the Jupiter Inlet to the North and Boynton Inlet to the South can both be extremely treacherous as compared to the deep, wide Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet just east of Peanut Island near West Palm Beach. Just minutes after departing the dock, we are fishing pristine tropical waters influenced by our close proximity to the Gulf Stream. This deep water inlet serves the Port of Palm Beach as the gateway to the Caribbean and the closest point of this superhighway for fish to the continental United States. The narrow body of water, The Straits of Florida, between Palm Beach and The Grand Bahama Bank separate the easternmost point of the United States and the Bahamas. All year many different migrating
pelagic fish species funnel just off the coast of Palm Beach in search of food along their journey. The
abundance of marine life and nutrient rich water produced, in part by upwelling currents and unique underwater
geographical features such as the Juno Ledge and the Breakers Reef can make for an epic pelagic bite literally just a couple miles offshore and only minutes from the dock! Annually a high concentration of migrating sailfish along the “ledge” during winter months (typically November – March) draw avid fisherman from all over the world to fight, and hopefully catch and release these majestic fish. Kite-fishing is a method unique to fishing this area and can be a very productive way to fish with live bait this time of year often producing multiple hook-ups on sailfish and other prized species.
Palm Beach Island is home to many celebrities, golf professionals, and entertainers making an interesting evening tour on board the luxurious Reel Candy. Our hostess can provide setups, refreshments, or your favorite wine and cocktail from our fully stocked wet bar and air-conditioned salon.
In 1918 a 79-acre island was created by dredging spoils from the construction of the Palm Beach/Lake worth inlet and the Port of Palm Beach. Peanut Island received its name for a failed peanut oil shipping operation which was aborted in 1946, after originally being named Inlet Island. Peanut Island is also home to a nuclear bunker that was created specifically to house President John F. Kennedy and his staff in the event of a nuclear attack while he was on vacation in the area. Luckily the bombs never came. After his JFK’s death, the bunker was all but forgotten and fell into disrepair, taking on water and natural detritus. It wasn’t until the mid-90’s that the site was leased by a museum group and work began on restoring the site to its original state. The bunker museum opened in 1999 allowing visitors to tour the disused shelter which had been restored to the condition it would have welcomed the president in.
The Kennedy Bunker closed in 2017. The non-profit that managed the facility lost its lease with the county. After several years of closure, Palm Beach County Commissioners voted in January 2022 to take over the facility, renovate it and re-open it to the public. As of October 2024, the county has requested proposals for design services. The project is estimated to cost millions of dollars and take several years… We’ll update the story as it develops!
This unique tropical park is situated in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Palm Beach/Lake Worth Inlet in close proximity to Phil Foster Park, the City of Riviera Beach, and the Port of Palm Beach. The park is a popular destination and provides numerous recreational opportunities for visitors, including snorkeling, fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, sunbathing and a campground (tent camping only, reservations required).

The first record of a settlement on Singer Island, Florida dates back to 1906 with Inlet City. Inlet City was a spontaneous community of fishermen and squatters, Singer Island, Florida was named for Paris Eugene Singer, the famous developer of Palm Beach and 23rd child of Isaac Singer, the sewing machine magnate. (In 1920, he visited Palm Beach, Florida and met Addison Mizner. The ideas of these two gentleman are responsible for the architecture of Palm Beach and West Palm Beach as we know it today.
Reel Candy Sportfishing Charter Boat offers Charters and Deep Sea Fishing in Palm Beach Florida. “Book A Day, Make Memories of a Lifetime!”
Jupiter Inlet offers world class offshore fishing. Warm tropical waters, close proximity to the gulf stream and upwelling currents make the nearby Juno Ledge one of South Florida’s most well-known fishing hot spots! Throughout the year effective fishing techniques include; kite fishing with live bait, trolling/dredge fishing artificial and dead baits and bottom fishing many of the nearby natural and man-made reefs and wrecks.
Jupiter Inlet is a premier Snook haunt. Casting around local bridges, docks and jetties will most often produce Snook of all sizes. At night the “shadow line” comes alive with Tarpon, Snook, Crevalle Jacks, Snapper and “Look-downs”. Sea Trout and Redfish will migrate through Jupiter Inlet at times as well, particularly around October when the finger mullet run has hit it’s prime. The Reel Candy Sportfish Team can provide live shrimp and shrimp-like lures as these are the favorite baits of these night time marauders. Jupiter Inlet offers many pristine and scenic locations lined with mangroves and sandbars. You can sight-cast to Tarpon, Snook, Jacks, Ladyfish, Pompano and monster Bluefish that move into the river to escape the cooler ocean temperature and feed on mullet. The best live bait to use are shrimp, mullet, sand perch or croaker.

Stuart, Florida is known as “The Sailfish Capital of the World.”
The Atlantic Sailfish is one of the most acrobatic billfish and typically puts on an incredible tail dancing show. The best time to catch and release a sailfish
on Florida’s Treasure Coast is November through March. It is not unusual to have multiple hook ups and to catch and release
several Sailfish per day in season. The average size sailfish weighs in between 50 and 75 lbs.
The charm of this historic downtown is undeniable, with the beauty of the St. Lucie River just feet away from over 50 locally-owned shops, restaurants and galleries.
There’s history around every corner with turn-of-the-century buildings and the Feed Store Museum steps from the Riverwalk boardwalk winding from the docks of Sunset Bay Marina to the historic homes of Seminole Street.

Many years ago we were fortunate enough to meet Ronnie Shatmann and Walker Holcomb, thank goodness not at the same time. These two guys wrote the book on wahoo fishing, and I’ve been hooked ever since our first conversations. Since then we have gone on to fish some of the best wahoo waters in the world including Australia. We on the Reel Candy Sportfishing team have been guiding anglers to trophy wahoo for the last 15 years.
Wahoo cruise the waters all year in the Abacos, from Walkers Cay to Treasure Cay, from Marsh Harbour to the Hole in the Wall, and islands south like San Salvador, Bahamas, but the season really starts in October. During November, December and thru March, the bite is exceptional with multiple bites daily. Fish are caught mostly in the 25 to 60 pound range with a few hitting the 100 pound mark.
Packages are all custom designed by Reel Candy Sportfishing for your particular group size, length of stay, and desired location. Including Walkers, Marsh Harbour, Treasure Cay and especially in San Salvador. We have packages to suit every angler, couple or group.
January, February, March and April will be the prime months for BIG MONSTER WAHOO in San Salvador on the Reel Candy. Although the weather can be extreme there are many days that are fishable. From January to April the weather in the Bahamas can range from the low to mid 50’s to the upper 70’s. Be sure to bring a sweater/sweatshirt and comfortable evening and lounging wear. Otherwise, normal “summer” attire, with a lightweight long sleeve shirt is recommended for sun protection & the bugs. On the island the evening dress code is very casual and shorts, tees or light tops the norm. A golf shirt or casual evening wear is fine for all dinner locations.
